Revel Motor Row

We rehabbed an old mansion in SoLo (South Loop) and moved in!

June 2017 | Projects

Revel Motor Row stood vacant for 10 years before we got our hands on her. Built in 1936 by acclaimed architect Philip Maher, she was previously home to the Illinois Automobile Club – and housed an olympic sized swimming pool! Later in life, the Chicago Defender moved in and replaced the pool with a printing press.

For the past few years we worked day and night to restore this beauty to her original glory, while infusing our Revel design sensibilities throughout. We liked our new venue so much that we moved our sales office into the garage! We’re churning away epic weddings in our courtyard and conferences you’d actually want to attend in our main space. Our goal was to help fuel the resurgence of this iconic neighborhood into a thriving entertainment district – a drag queen show palace just moved in next door so we’re fairly sure it’s working.
